Recommendations
Recommendations
- Bring a windbreaker, as the boats’ rapid movement and the morning sea breeze create a consistently chilly feeling, even in the summer months.
- Protect yourself from the sun’s rays by using sunscreen, sunglasses, and a hat or cap with an adjustable cord to prevent strong gusts of wind from blowing it off.
- Eat a light breakfast before boarding, and if you are prone to motion sickness, take preventative medication for nausea (after consulting a doctor).
- Secure cameras and mobile phones with straps, protecting them adequately from the inevitable splashes of saltwater during the trip.
- Bring cash in local currency (Peruvian Soles) to pay port taxes and nature reserve fees to the relevant authorities before boarding the boat.
Additional
Additional information
- Difficulty: Very easy. The tour is conducted entirely aboard the speedboat, so it requires no physical effort. Passengers do not disembark to walk on the islands in order to protect and avoid disturbing the natural ecosystem.
- Climate: Temperate to warm on land, but cool and windy at sea. The desert coast enjoys sunny weather almost year-round.
- Sea conditions: The tour is subject to ocean conditions and the official regulations of the Port Authority. In case of abnormal swells or extreme winds (known locally as “Paracas”), departures may be delayed or canceled to ensure passenger safety.
- Recommended age: Suitable for travelers of all ages. It is a very child-friendly experience for young children and seniors, who can comfortably enjoy the ride while seated.
- Reference schedules: There are generally two main morning departures: at 8:00 AM and 10:00 AM. It is recommended to opt for the first shift, as the sea usually has a much calmer and more stable swell in the early morning.
